Gang Beasts is a fighting, indie game that was developed by Boneloaf in collaboration with Coatsink, and it was published back in August 2014 by Double Fine, Boneloaf, and Skybound Games. This game is available for almost all the mainstream platforms such as Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Linux, and macOS.
This multiplayer party game is packed with surly gelatinous characters, brutal melee fight sequences, and absurd hazardous environments. Set in the fictional Beef City, players control their characters to compete in several shenanigans, including dodgeball, tug-of-war, and gang fights. The objective of the game is to eliminate the other teams or players by knocking them out of an arena or forcing them to fall into hazards, such as pits of toxic sludge.
In addition to a single-player mode, Gang Beasts offers several multiplayer modes. These include local multiplayer (with up to four players), online multiplayer (with up to eight players), and co-op—a game mode where two teams of equally sized characters work together towards a common objective. However, the main question is, whether Gang Beasts supports cross-play or not. So, let’s find out.
Is Gang Beasts Cross-Platform in 2022?
For multiplayer games, it is quite important to feature cross-platform support otherwise players have to face a lot of issues just to play together (while having different platforms).
Unfortunately, when it comes to Gang Beasts, the developers have not given any cross-platform support which is quite disappointing. But the good thing is that the developers have announced that they will provide fully functional cross-platform support in the next update.
Still, there’s a catch. The new update will surely bring cross-platform support but that won’t be for all of the supported devices. It will be selected for a few ones only.
